Mattie J. Eley Nursing Scholarship

The Greater Kansas City Black Nurses Association is proud to provide annual nursing scholarships since 1994.

Mrs. Mattie J. Eley RN, BSN, M.Ed, MSN was a charter member, who has contributed to GKCBNA since the forming years. More importantly, she has committed many years to student nurses in sustenance of any kind, including books, food, her time, encouragement, direction, insight and more.

She has done so much more with her life as a testimony of what a nurse should and can become as well as what a nurse can do for the profession and community here locally and abroad.

Many students are nurses today because of her assistance and facilitation.

GKCBNA is honored to give our nursing scholarship her name as we continue a legacy of commitment to better healthcare in our community.
